From his earliest days bodyboarding on the wedges at Main Beach at Port MacQuarie where competition for waves was as cut throat as it gets, Kingys will to win and endless drive shaped him into a fierce competitor that would earn him 2 World Titles in the coming years. photos Stroh

Kingy grew up in Port Macquarie in waves that suited both prone and dropknee conditions. The area has produced plenty of  hot riders like the Murray Brothers, Toddy DeGraaf ,Rick Bannister, Mason Rose and Kingy who excelled at both mediums. Kingy proved his point winning the 2011 DK World Tour Title. This photo was taken at Backdoor on the Northshore early 2000′s

Kingy grew up surfing the beachies of Port Macquarie an area not known for producing heavy waves. Strangely enough, Damian went on to win The Shark Island Challenge in the heaviest waves in the events history and also any contest held in Australia. This shot taken from that same monster swell where riders put their lifes on the line to  get barrelled. Photo CSP

When Kingy  was still a youngster and a cheeky one at that he was spending the majority of his time surfing at the breakwalls of Port MacQuarie. Damian used to Dropknee almost as much as he proned. The Kingston utilised the wedging mid north coast side washes to smash the lips and throw down the big money shot moves. Below typical Kingy hack taken in the late 90′s on the North Coast of NSW photo Stroh.
