From the infamous Maroubra Beach, long before The Bra Boy gang came into existence, Hellman Hawke along with Evan Penglis, Steve Macca, PJ Hyland and the rest of the MBA club ruled the waves,  it was a virtual stronghold of bodyboarding talent back in the late 80′s.

Rick Bannister shows off his Hawaiian rental car for his stay on the Northshore. These typical rent-a-wrecks are cheap , full of rust and usually un-roadworthy but if they get you from surf spot to surf spot for a few weeks they are well worth the investment. Photo Stroh mid 90′s.
