Eppo began experimenting with the Double Roll move at home in Port MacQuarie in ’92. He unleashed it in Hawaii at the Pipe comp in Jan ’93 and the rest is history. The day this sequence was captured for the film “Ballistic” by Underground Tapes, Eppo had only made one or two ever before. This day was a punchy day at Breakwall when he fully pulled it off in spectacular form, it was the move that started a change of thinking in the sport. Seq Chris Stroh.

The first time I saw this kind of Bodyboarding/body surfing was during the making of Underground Tapes around 1990. It was by Steve “Macca”Mackenzie at Suckrock using a Maccas tray. Got those waves on video in the vault somewhere. It originated at Sandy’s Beach in the early days where pretty much everything else in the sport was first started. This clip will get you amped to give it a go.

The Smor-gas-board video was the follow title to the very popular Boogie Knights movie by John Mckinney. The new VHS vid was more of the same, mixing red hot action with commedy skitsthis time around introducing us to the legendary Bubba. Starring Maligro, Harnsberger, Jacob Reeves and all the top pro’s, it hit the market  around 2000 just before DVD’s took over from tapes.
