This shot of young Mason lip floating the foam at Lighthouse Beach at Port MacQuarie was when the naturally skilled dropknee rider was just beginning to make a name for himself around ’98 for his explosive talent. The passionate and gifted Mason continues to support and promote Dropknee whenever the opportunity arises. Photo Stroh

This pic of Guilherme Tamega was taken in Australia around ’88. Just a fresh faced kid competing against the likes of Stewart, Severson , Sasaki and Reale. Around 5 years later Tamega won his first of many World Titles. Photo Stroh

From the Big Island of Hawaii the cool and casual Skipper had one of the cleanest and most natural styles in the sport. Skip’s riding was hailed as close to perfect by many drooling grommets throughout the latter half of the 90′s. A standout in all conditions the Hawaiian charger excelled best when things got heavier. Its almost surprising that the gifted bodyboarder who dominates many star studded sessions at the Worlds most photographed reef  has yet to capture a Pipe Title. Barney had done more for Queensland bodyboarders than probably anyone else throughout his long association with the sport. One of the original pioneers and former Aussie Champ is still  as keen today as when this pic below was taken in the early 90′s. Photo Tullemans

Ross Hawke scored the cover on Issue 2 of Riptide. It was snapped at Suckrock which at the time along with Shark Island was one of  the most desired bodyboarding waves in Australia back in 1990. This pic by Chris Stroh
