When Mike was the highest profile rider in the sport throughout the 80′s he attracted outside sponshorship like Gothcha Clothing and other surf related brands. Around ’86 the sport was going off in the USA and Mike was in the box seat to claim the rewards.

Jeff Hubbard has a reputation for big aerial moves but he is equally happy taking on waves of consequences. Check out the slab of water known as The Wedge in California he’s about to cop on his head. At least it made the cover. Photo Hoover.

Egg from Kiama a hotbed of bodyboarding talent on the South Coast of Sydney scored the cover of Pit Magazine issue 5.1 . At the time he went uncredited and called “Mystery man”. Egg was one of the Southern coastlines standout performers throughout the 90′s. The pic was by Jones.

Surfmate was another cheap bodyboard looking to make a fast buck that hit the market in the 80′s and disappeared just as quick.
