When the whole No Friends thing came about Hubb was on fire and was just starting to take his airs to bigger and better places. The NF vids captured a change in the sport and new era of riders, it set a high standard that had never been seen before in videos and placed a stylish feel towards bodyboarding that had been lacking previously. This is the symbol of a revolution. The first No Friends logo started a movement that began in 1998 and lasted a decade. The NF brand changed the whole dynamics of the sport by inventing classy vids, cool clothes and with the best team in the sport at the time the best progressive riding. The name itself represented a break away from standup surfings longtime monopoly to create a self sufficient industry that stood alone.

In the late 90′s it began when the No Friends team of elite bodyboarders went on tour to promote their latest video offering. The NF guys were leading the sport at the time in every aspect and their videos were the most highly sort after videos on the market. If you were lucky the NF circus and their friends would roll into your town and blow up the sport of bodyboarding and for several years they took it to another level at each new premier. When No Friends went global in the late 90s it had no bigger impact than Australia. The local clothing brand pulled together the hottest young Aussie kids to wave the NF flag like Nelson Ross below. Nelson was from the Sunny Coast. Along with, Sean Virtue, Jono Bruce, Michael Crawley, Dave Winchester and Joel Taylor team NF Oz was a youth force like no other before or later. Pic MC.
